Hi!

This week you are going to draw a little chick.
Below are the step-by-steps on how to draw a chick!
After you are done drawing the chick add any details that you like. Examples of details added to the chick could include adding bows, flowers, grass, or sky. Finally, color or paint your picture. Have fun and be creative. Miss you all!

1st, 2nd and 3rd art assignment for the week of April 27-May 1st

This week you are working on a project using lines and patterns. Remember that a pattern is a repetition of a design. First, divide your paper into different sections. Next, in each section you are going to draw a different pattern using a black crayon. Then, using crayons, markers, or colored pencils color each section with bright colors! Be creative and have fun!

4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th art assignment for week of April 27-may 1st

This week you are going to learn about the famous artist, George Rodrigue. During last weeks Hangouts, we talked about him and also saw pictures of his famous paintings of the “BLUE DOG”. Start by researching his life and specifically about the Blue Dog paintings. Write a paragraph about what you learned. Next, draw the Blue Dog. Remember we discussed that the Blue Dog has a few characteristics that you have to follow. Then, be creative and add your own twist to your drawing. For example, you can add clothes, masks, accessories, and a background to the Blue Dog picture. Be creative and have fun! Color or paint to complete your work!

The due date for this assignment is May 3rd.

6th, 7th, and 8th art assignment for the week of April 20-24

You all know what a logo is. A logo is a symbol or design that identifies a company, organization, etc.
Using your creativity and imagination, you are going to draw your own logo using anything that shows it’s about you such as your name initials. You can use a shape with your logo inside. My example below is a logo inside of a shape (circle). Be creative!! Remember, you can not draw any logo that already exists! It has to be your own. Use color to complete your work.

This week you are working with circles!!

Look around the house and find something round like a lid of a jar, a roll of tape or anything that you see that you can trace circles with. Next, on your paper you are going to make a composition tracing  circles with some overlapping. Finally, use color to finish your work!! You can use paint, markers, or crayons!!! Have fun and be creative!

This week you are going to draw faces with different kind of lines. We talked in class about many kinds of lines like curvy, zigzag, wavy, bumpy, straight, castle and many others. On your paper draw 9 circles the best you can and then use lines to design a variety of faces. Finally, trace all the lines with a black crayon. Be creative and have fun!!!

Start by asking your parents to show you some bugs on the computer! Next, on any kind of paper, pick your favorite bug and draw it the best you can. Next, color your bug and the background!!! Be creative and have fun!!!

Hope you all had a happy Easter!


This week we will continue working on the Stations of the Cross, but this time you will focus on The Women at the foot of the Cross. Start by looking at paintings of the crucification where you can see the Women At the Foot of the Cross! Next, draw the women showing what YOU THINK were their feelings at the time Jesus was crucified! This is not an easy project, but I know you can do it!!! Do the best that you can :)

The due date for this project is Sunday April 19th.

4th and 5th art assignment for the week of April 14 -17

Hi!!

Hope you all had a happy Easter!!!

This week you are going to work on a pot of flowers!!!

Start by researching different kinds of flower pots!!! You can pick one that you saw or draw your own. Be creative! Remember not to use the edge of the paper to start your pot. See photo for example.

Next, with wavy lines, divide the paper into four sections. Look at the photo for example of dividing the paper into four wavy sections. Next draw different kinds of flowers in your pot!! On each section, use markers or crayons to draw different kind of patterns. Finally, trace and color the flowers and pot! If you want you can draw patterns on your pot!

This weeks project is about flowers!! We are in Spring!!

First, see the attached photo. Using any type of paper that you have, divide your paper into four sections just like in the attached photo I sent. If you need help, ask your parents! Next, in each section, draw a different kind of flower!! Color each flower with bright colors!!! Finally, color the background! Have fun!!

2nd and 3rd art assignment for week of April 6-8

HI!!!

This week you are going to work on a drawing that is going to look like a stained glass window, like the ones you see at the church. First, on the center of your paper, draw a big cross. Next, on the background, trace different lines across the paper to divide it in many shapes. Next, color the cross using only one color and the shapes in different colors. Finally, trace all the pencil lines with a black crayon, marker, or colored pencil. Be creative and have fun!!!!

This week you are going to learn about Van Gogh, one of the most famous post-impressionist artist, by researching his life.Next, write a paragraph about what you learned.  Google “step by step” Starry Night drawing ,or look at the painting, and draw it the best you can.  Use color and try to imitate his strokes using small lines when coloring!!!!Have fun!!!
